About Nadia M.
Nadia is building affordable energy source for local communities through circular economy.
Nadia initiated the Daur Karbon Project (The Carbon Cycle Project) that focuses on addressing the issues of food waste and livestock manure while simultaneously tackling energy challenges. She aims to process carbon emissions from organic food waste, agricultural waste, and livestock waste from her community into renewable biogas energy. This is achieved through sustainable carbon emission management activities rooted in circular and green economy principles. By empowering communities and strengthening their economy, the project integrates food waste processing using BSF (Black Soldier Fly) maggot decomposition for livestock feed and utilizes livestock manure for biogas production as a clean and affordable energy source for local communities.
Nadia and her team have engaged over 700 people within two years. Through circular waste management, communities can now independently manage food and organic waste, transforming it into animal feed and fertilizer. With 10 kg of maggots, up to 30-50 kg of organic waste can be processed daily. The Daur Karbon project has also achieved a potential carbon emission reduction of 5.7 tons of CO2 equivalent per year through its combined activities and end products, including eco-friendly electricity, Eco Charging Stations, and various other by-products.
