Felipe B.

Felipe from Candiba, Bahia, founded and leads the Antônio Batista Student Union at his school, creating a participatory model that gives students a voice and transforms a previously authoritarian and demotivating environment into a collaborative and inclusive space. 

With the motto “The school we have and the school we want,” the initiative had an immediate impact by motivating previously apathetic students to engage in decisions about education quality, infrastructure, extracurricular activities, and mental health.

Felipe also expanded his efforts by connecting with public education authorities and organizing regional youth gatherings, inspiring the creation of student unions in other schools and building a network of mobilized young leaders. Felipe leads with co-management and aims to expand the network of student unions, form youth collectives, and develop digital platforms to strengthen youth leadership and social transformation.
