Helping Quebec, one plate at a time

Teaching cooking to young people in Quebec—and by extension, food self-sufficiency—fighting food waste, and feeding those in need. A tall order, you might say. Yet, this is precisely what Jean-François Archambault and his teams at La Tablée des Chefs have been accomplishing for almost 20 years, with the support of partners such as the Marcelle and Jean Coutu Foundation, the SAQ, Saputo, and the National Bank, among others.

With its summer cooking camps for 10- to 15-year-olds, its food surplus recovery program, and its culinary brigades that tour schools, La Tablée des Chefs had already earned recognition from the Social Impact Awards jury.

Then came the pandemic, and La Tablée added another layer to its workload.
