$144,000 for Solidarity Kitchens

In less than two weeks, a remarkable outpouring of generosity materialized thanks to personal donations from employees and senior management, as well as shareholders, Quebec subsidiaries, and unions within the Énergir family.

Mobilizing Quebec restaurateurs to cook over 1.6 million meals for people affected by food insecurity, Les Cuisines Solidaires (Solidarity Kitchens) aims to help both the most vulnerable, whose difficulties have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, and restaurant owners and workers, who receive $1 per portion prepared. The funds raised by Énergir will be specifically directed to small restaurants facing significant challenges in continuing their operations.

“Énergir is used to being active in the community, but the unique situation the company is facing has led us to want to do even more.” While corporate donations were made to several emergency funds at the beginning of the pandemic, the success of this remarkable mobilization is now entirely due to the men and women behind Énergir! We are proud of their involvement and thank them for responding so quickly to the call,” says Stéphanie Trudeau, Executive Vice-President Quebec at Énergir.
