About José Cássio
As the founder of Young Pulse, José Cássio is building a new culture of empathy and social responsibility through blood donation
José Cássio is a high school student from Bahia who turned a personal experience into a powerful movement for social good. After organizing a blood donation drive to help a teacher’s father, he realized the broader impact such actions could have.
This inspired him to create Young Pulse (Pulso Jovem), an initiative that promotes blood donation among young people, especially around holidays when blood supplies are low. With the support of teachers and classmates, José helped boost youth donations, leading to over 100 collected blood bags.
Beyond numbers, his work fosters empathy, combats misinformation, and encourages a culture of care. José believes in the power of collective action and dreams of a society where donating blood becomes a natural, everyday gesture of solidarity
