WISE Up Online Series
Save the date! The WISE Up Online Series is taking place July 13 - July 15.
The current global health crisis has underlined the urgency of building an Everyone a Changemaker (EACH) world - one in which every individual is equipped with the mindset, support, and skill set to respond to social challenges and lead change.
As part of Ashoka's global Women's Initiative for Social Entrepreneurship (WISE), WISE Up seeks to spark discussions at the ecosystem-level around how we can better invest in, advance, and learn from impact models that scale deep - ones that prioritize shifts in cultures, values, ideas, and attitudes over reach - and accelerate EACH through inclusive, collaborative frameworks for change.
In a truly EACH world, every individual is uplifted, the power of scaling deep is infused into all layers of the entrepreneurship ecosystem, and sector leaders recognize the importance of supporting systems-changing innovators leading deep impact.
While all social entrepreneurs practice scaling deep to some extent, evidence has shown that women social entrepreneurs in particular tend to value scaling deep in their work. Given this, they are well placed to effect widespread, lasting change around the world.
Women leaders are currently serving as global role models for men, women, girls, and boys in tackling the COVID-19 crisis. Additionally, women are leading movements to save black lives, dismantle systemic racism, and fight white supremacy - possessing important insights into this battle as we globally contend with too-long-ignored structural racism.
In drawing lessons from the stories of leading women social entrepreneurs from around the world, WISE Up aims to redefine success from a gendered lens.
