Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, our country faced daunting challenges. 1 in 4 American households cannot afford to fill their prescriptions. More than 400,000 people a year pass through our publicly-funded, mostly-privatized immigrant detention system rife with human rights abuses. The working class is financially insecure and our democracy is increasingly fragile. And yet, thankfully, solutions abound. Meet four newly elected Ashoka Fellows, each of whom deeply understands one of these entrenched challenges and has identified a systems-changing way forward.
