Les Ballons Intensifs Focuses on the Mental Health of Young People

The mental health of teenagers has been severely tested over the past two years. To address this, Les Ballons Intensifs (LBI) will be tackling mental health issues during their summer camps with young people, their parents, and staff.

Members of LBI, a Montreal-based organization that offers free basketball camps in underprivileged areas throughout Quebec, have witnessed firsthand the detrimental effects of the pandemic on young people's well-being.

"There was a general feeling of discouragement, anxiety, stress, even depression, and uncertainty about the future. They see it as two lost years," says Ernest Edmond, executive director of LBI.
